Our goal was to deliver 40 custom wheelchairs for children, providing general health checkups, and offering hearing screenings to support early detection and care. We also work to identify children in need of surgery for next year’s medical trip, while encouraging more Rotarians and guests to join us in practicing ‘Service Above Self.

Funding and Support
The wheelchair project was made possible through generous contributions totaling $30,000. Major support came from the International Committee ($13,450), the Children’s Health Project ($5,000), a Rotary District Grant ($5,000), the Whiskey Pull fundraiser ($4,550), and individual donors including Terry Parker and the Brennan Family, who each contributed $1,000.
Additional Contributions
There’s even more to celebrate. A generous donor in Guatemala covered the in-country airfare, while hearing aids and medical equipment were donated to support the mission. The Children’s Health Project also funded hotels and meals for local workers, and volunteers generously covered their own travel expenses. This effort was further strengthened by the incredible generosity of Dr. Medardo López and the Centro Gineco-Obstétrico, whose partnership made the mission possible.
